The Shed

Located next to Montgomery Hall, The Shed provides 20 classrooms that springboard collaboration between the School of Design and the School of Digital Media in developing new media and advanced technologies. The Shed is a think tank where design thinking, computer programming and STEM collide, and result in innovative products and applications. The Shed contains two fully equipped studio labs for robotics and prototyping electronics; a special project shop and teaching model shop where students can build 3-D models of their original designs; two advanced computer labs for virtual and augmented reality; a user-testing lab with double-sided mirrors for studying user behavior on digital interfaces and focus groups; and a variety of state-of-the-art classrooms supporting creative business leadership, design management, design for sustainability, industrial design, service design and user experience (UX) design.
