About this Event
Pooja Pawaskar (M.A., furniture design, 2016) is the Canada-based, Indian-born artist behind Whirl & Whittle, a sculpture studio that crafts wooden, stone, and ceramic pieces in celebration of the inherent beauty in each object’s peculiarities. Her work is grounded in the belief that the world around us and the things within it are unique rather than imperfect. Driven by a fascination with design and art, Pawaskar originally pursued architecture and unearthed her passion for building furniture late in her studies. Pawaskar began her career as a furniture designer at Stylex Seating in New Jersey. On weekends, she honed her woodworking skills at a communal workshop in New York City. In 2019, Pawaskar relocated to Canada, where Whirl & Whittle was born. During this chat, Pawaskar will talk about her drive to create unforgettable pieces. Follow @whirlandwhittle on Instagram.
