About this Event
Join Professor Song and jewelry alumni Olivia La Selva as they discusss the history and cultural origin of Raku as a ceramic technique and how it has filtered into the enameling community. Students will learn about the materials and safety necessary and do demos of a variety of surface finishes that can be achieved with different variations of enamel, temperature, and combustion/reduction. Focus will be placed on the amount of variation that can be achieved with limited enamel colors. Students will be provided with digital print resources to refer to when preforming the technique in a home studio or apply to their work in the SCAD studios.
