Professor of Art History, Alex Tunstall, will give a brief introduction to the historical and artistic context of blue and white porcelain in China, discussing the decorative motifs and their symbolic meanings as well as how contemporary artists have used blue and white porcelain in their work. Students will then be given the time and materials to design their own blue and white porcelain!
