About this Event
Eligibility:
Open to all students enrolled in a Foundation Studies Class at the Savannah location during the 2022-2023 academic year. Work in any medium is accepted. Work must have been created in a SCAD Foundation Studies Class.
Students may enter a maximum of five (5) entries in any one or any combination of categories below.
Call for Entries: Tuesday, February 21
Entry deadline: Wednesday, March 29
Notification of Acceptance: Monday, April 3
Delivery of Work: April 5 - 14 (by 5 p.m.); By April 5 if wanting to have matted by the SCAD Frame Shop.
Exhibition Dates: April 17 – 30, Wallin Hall
Closing Reception: Friday, April 21, 3 - 4:30 p.m.
Awards:
Foundation Studies/Ex Libris Purchase Award for $700.
The purchase award winner’s work will be framed and included in the Foundation Studies permanent collection.
First Place $200
Second Place $150
Third Place $100
In each of the following categories:
Design I and Visual Design Systems
Color
3D Design
Figure Drawing
Drawing (including DRAW100, DRAW101, and Drawing for Design)
Digital Drawing
Process
First Place $200 award for the following courses:
Creative Thinking Strategies and Time/4D
Requirements:
Students may submit from 1 - 4 pieces in any of the following categories and a FIFTH piece of Process work. Submissions can include 2D, 3D and video content (including working drawings, sketchbooks and digital media).
Design 1 and Visual Design Systems, Color, 3D Design, Figure Drawing, Drawing (100, 101, and Drawing for Design,) Creative Thinking Strategies, Time/4D and Process Work.
NOTE: All pieces submitted for review must be available to hang on or before April 3rd, 2023. Further information will be provided upon final notification about the exhibition. As well the exhibition committee holds the right to refuse any works that are not available or are found not to be representative of the work submitted for the application.
Submission Process:
All files must be digitally submitted together in a single .pdf file. This can be done in Google Slides, Adobe Acrobat, PowerPoint, Keynote, or InDesign, and converted to .pdf
