In this Drawing and Design Center Workshop, students will follow a systematic approach to the use of value for the creation of volume and depth.

They will learn

  • To identify elements of light in groups of three and in groups of six, while drawing from direct observation.
  • To use graphite pencils (2B, 4B, 6B) on white paper to depict a convincing illusion of depth in their direct or indirect observation work while using chiaroscuro.
  • Complex versions of chiaroscuro to be examined in more detail During future workshops.

Materials to bring:

  • Sketchbook
  • Graphite pencils (2B, 4B, 6B)
