Join Mark Robbins — president of the American Academy in Rome, the preeminent center for advanced research in the arts and humanities — for insight on design and social impact. Hear how Robbins invites artists and scholars to pursue their work within the Academy's international community, advancing intellectual and artistic freedom and interdisciplinary exchange. An artist, architect, and educator, Robbins was the first curator of architecture at the Wexner Center for the Arts, establishing a laboratory for experimental work, and later became executive director of the International Center of Photography in New York. Robbins has edited 10 books on design and is a frequent lecturer on art and architecture. He is a recipient of numerous awards including the Rome Prize and fellowships from the Radcliffe Institute and the New York Foundation for the Arts.
