Quartier des Ecoles, Lacoste
Since its rechristening in 2017, Acorn Cottage has served as the residence for SCAD Alumni Atelier ambassadors in Lacoste. In this seven-bedroom lodge, alumni live and work amid rich history, unique culture and artistic tradition. A luscious garden, complete with fig trees, lavender and the SCAD crest shaped from local flora, welcomes guests into the 1857 structure. Complementing the rustic framework of wood and stone, alumni artwork lends a pop of color and whimsy to the classic Provençal architecture. The proverb, "Mighty oaks from little acorns do grow," is inscribed upon the walls of this historic home, reminding students and alumni that small things â when nurtured â grow big and mighty.

Graphic design, advertising, photography, and film and television share the multilevel Adler Hall on the Savannah River. Its classrooms are equipped with state-of-the-art computers and production and presentation technology, including iMacs, Epson plotters and printers, and saddle-stitch staplers, among other equipment. In 1954, Adler Hall housed a Home Appliances and Furniture outlet. A south wing was added in 1969, and in 1972 the store's name changed to Home Appliances Wholesale and Electric Supplies. It was annexed by the U.S. Postal Service in the early '90s and acquired by SCAD in 2005. The building houses 8,000 square feet of classroom space, with a total of 17,500 square feet. Hybrid studios, a full lab and lecture space are just some of the features available to students. Adler Hall also contains the new photography studio with equipment checkout, postproduction facilities and screening rooms along with the adjacent Hamilton Hall. Together, the two buildings are known as Indian Street Studios.

Located within the heart of Savannah's Thomas Square Streetcar District, Arnold Hall boasts an expansive Georgian revival style edifice and was constructed in 1920 as the 35th Street Junior High School. The building later served as the first public high school in Chatham County. In 2008, nearly 90 years after its completion, the building was reopened by the university and is now home to the SCAD School of Liberal Arts, where art and design students from across every degree program engage the great ideas of world civilization in liberal arts disciplines such as anatomy, anthropology, art history, cinema studies, communication, English, psychology, writing, and much, much more. Arnold Hall serves thousands of students every quarter, applying the rich lessons of the humanities and sciences to their professionally focused degree programs. This 88,000-square-foot structure is the universityâs first LEED-certified building (gold rating), one of the highest honors bestowed upon environmentally responsible and energy-efficient âgreenâ buildings. Elements from the buildingâs original construction can be found throughout, from the tiles depicting seagulls and sailing ships surrounding its many water fountains, to the lustrous terrazzo floors that support the computer labs, study spaces, and nearly forty classrooms. Each of the classrooms has an audio-visual system for digital display of lesson materials. There are two PC labs for instruction and independent study, a quiet reading room, and a 607-seat theater for lectures and theatrical productions.
